Anke van der Kwaak

KIT Royal Tropical Institute

Anke van der Kwaak is a senior advisor and researcher at KIT Royal Tropical Institute. She trains and teaches in SRHR and is the coordinator of the Health Systems Research Module at KIT’s Masters of Public Health. She has successfully led many research and advisory projects, and has a specific focus on sexuality, sexual health and adolescents and youth.

Before joining KIT, she worked for ten years as a university lecturer at the Medical Faculty of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. There she was also active as a researcher and trainer in CARAM Asia, a research programme on migration of vulnerable and key populations in ten Asian Countries.

Currently, she is the team leader of the SRHR team at KIT which consists of 20 members. She provides strong vision and leadership around strategic planning, implementation of research, informing policy and practice. She is the project leader for KIT of the Yes I Do alliance a five year programme combatting child marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting and teenage pregnancy for which KIT measures impact and informs effective programming.

The FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum is a series of events on current and overarching challenges and trends in peacebuilding. With the Peacebuilding Forum, we want to provide future-oriented impulses for the development of peacebuilding and strengthen the visibility and importance of the policy field in its entirety.
