Andreas Beckermann is a senior policy advisor with 31 years of experience in development cooperation, including development finance, specialised on private sector development and economic policy. He is advisor to the Personal Representative of the Federal Chancellor for Africa in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). He works on investment in Africa and prepared the German contribution to the G20 Investment Summits - Promoting German-African Business Relations under the Compact with Africa (2018, 2019).

For together 12 years, Mr. Beckermann headed the bilateral development programmes with Morocco, South Africa, and Indonesia, at the respective German Embassies. A trained economist and alumnus of the German Development Institute, he has previously worked on financial systems development, development policy of the European Union, principles of migration and development, as well as on extractive industries and development.
