Peace work often relies on Eurocentric assumptions. These may signifanctly shape the self-image, attitude, and concrete goals of peacebuilding projects – oftentimes dominated by actors from the Global North. By marginalising other perspectives, epistemic violence is perpetuated and equal recognition as well as partnerships are prevented. The term epistemic violence describes the systematic oppression and suppression of certain knowledge systems, perspectives or ways of knowledge production. In this workshop, we want to create space for critical reflection and interactive creativity: which understanding of peace and "conflict otherwise" exists in locally led peacebuilding, but is not listened to and not recognised? How can a different conceptual framework influence our understanding of partnerships and provide new insights into peace and conflict?
